Traveling pediatric hospital gives 3,000 St. Lucie kids giveaway dental care

The HANDS Pediatric Dental Clinic operates by donations and grants. Here’s who helped in a community:

• United Way of St. Lucie County supposing $48,000 in grants.

• Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County supposing $13,000 for equipment, $25,000 handling costs and $9,800 for a summer camps program.

• Scripps-Howard Foundation* supposing $7,000.

• Paul Jacquin Sons construction supposing $10,000 in restoration labor and materials.

• Walmart Distribution Center 7308 supposing 1,200 packs of simple dental equipment for students.

• Florida Power Light Co. gave 1,000 toothbrushes.

• Another 5,000 toothbrushes came from a New York Mets.

Dental use to open here, give under-served a new option

A association that specializes in dental caring for impecunious children will open an bureau in Spotsylvania County subsequent month.

Kool Smiles Dentistry for Kids and Parents is renovating space during 3533 Plank Road in a Spotsylvania Crossing selling center. The association expects to open the newest bureau Sept. 12.

Founded in 2002, Kool Smiles is a for-profit business formed in Atlanta, with 120 offices in 14 states. The Fredericksburg-area bureau will be the 11th in Virginia.

“Our goal is to enhance dentistry and verbal health services to any under-served community,” pronounced Geoffrey Freeman, association spokesman.
