Augusta Dental Worker Pleads Guilty to Embezzlement

Augusta –

A former bookkeeper during an Augusta dental bureau has pleaded guilty to embezzling about $120,000 in income from a practice.

Prosecutors contend 47-year-old Celine Davis of Lewiston was condemned Tuesday to 5 years in jail with all though 6 months suspended, if she pays behind partial of a income she stole.

If she does not repay a money, she faces a whole 5 years behind bars.

Attorneys told a decider in Kennebec County Superior Court that Davis is arranging to repay $70,000 from her retirement funds.

Prosecutors contend Davis was a devoted 16-year worker of Augusta Orthodontics
