A Chez Panisse birthday remembrance

It was an obscure, dingy, two-story unit building, converted from an aged house, in an abandoned partial of Berkeley. Not costly to buy. It had good bones. we tore it down to a studs and started to rebuild.

I was flattering most on my own, given Alice Waters, my 50-50 partner, was bustling during her pursuit during a Montessori school. Our backers, Berkeley lawyers, a special breed, had betrothed to be a partners, though a few weeks into a reformation they motionless to lift out of a deal. That harm us badly, given they had been a construction appropriation source.

Panicked, Alice
